Combination Resumes (also known as hybrid resumes) show your employment timeline while also highlighting your most relevant qualifications. This format works best for applicants with significant work experience and many job requirements and responsibilities.
A prospective employer does not need an exhaustive list of everything you have done in a previous job. When describing your duties at a previous job, highlight your accomplishments and, whenever you are able to, quantify them with hard numbers on your job resume. It is all good and well that you led a team of six salespeople, but it is a lot more powerful to say that sales for your team increased 50 percent under your leadership.
Should you use a resume template? Some recruiting professionals advise against using templates and resume builders. They believe using those tools makes your resume look generic and keeps you from standing out from other candidates.
