Get to the point. Employers do not want to waste time reading a lot of meaningless babble. Only include the most important, relevant information when createing your resume. Do not write run-on sentences or long lists of adjectives. When employers are going through a huge pile of resumes, they do not want to stop and decipher anything. Get to the point.
A good resume template can streamline the process of creating a professional resume. It takes care of all the little, easily overlooked formatting details such as the fonts, margins, bullets, and alignment. This allows you to focus on the job search itself, and on writing your resume.
Do not let your resume go on longer than one page. If you take a look at a few different resume samples – you will see that all of them are typically one page or less. Take out anything that your employers wont really care about, like how you volunteer for your daughters Girl Scout troupe. Only include volunteer activities if they are relevant to the type of work you do.
