Should you use a resume template? Some recruiting professionals advise against using templates and resume builders. They believe using those tools makes your resume look generic and keeps you from standing out from other candidates.
Proofreading seems like a given, but hiring managers still receive plenty of resumes with embarrassing typos and other errors. Do not just dash off your resume and send it. Once you are finished, step away from it for at least a few minutes and then come back and give it a thorough read for mistakes. Better yet – have someone else take a look.
